Hood: Outlaw and Legends

At The East Wing, located in the vibrant North East of Newcastle, United Kingdom, we're Fortunate to work on projects that unite our passion for gaming with our creativity as sound designers, audio engineers, and musicians.

When approached by Sumo Digital and Focus Entertainment to compose the original music score for Hood: Outlaws & Legends, a dark reimagining of the Robin Hood legend, it was an exciting opportunity.

Our involvement extended beyond music composition; we managed voice casting and recording, adding depth to the game's characters. Additionally, we crafted a captivating lullaby, 'Ghost of the Forest,' to enrich Hood's legend and backstory. This lullaby evolved into the game's theme tune and featured prominently in the Sony PlayStation Reveal trailer.

At The East Wing, we recognise the crucial role of sound and music in creating immersive gaming experiences. Contact us today to discover how we can elevate your gaming experience with our expertise in immersive game audio, sound design and music composition, whether you're based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Durham, or the surrounding North East area, elsewhere in the United Kingdom, or internationally.

Once we had completed our work on the game itself, the reveal trailer became a project for us that we really took to. The opportunity to take care of every element of the sound. We had already written the lullaby, it just needed to be rearranged in a darker, more epic fashion. There was a huge emphasis on regional accents in the game to make it feel closer to the original tale. So getting a Scottish voice for the trailer not only kept us clear of the traditional ‘Trailer voice’ it also tied us into the unique story. With the music being so big, the sound design couldn’t run constantly. We chose the big moments and hit them really hard!
