The Coral Vegas tiger was purely a sound design job.
The tiger was created by VFX studio MPC who amongst many other things are known for the Jungle Book live action remake and Life of Pi, and it was filmed by their production arm MPC Creative. The commercial’s ‘neon noir’ urban jungle night scenes were filmed in Cape Town, South Africa.
The main challenge was to marry up sound that matches something as organic as a tiger, which obviously wasn’t real so made no noise whatsoever, with the electricity of the VFX.
The music track is so full and powerful we had to find creative ways to make the SFX cut through and really add to the drama of the ad.
